Record #187323:

Using the polar bear framework to protect the Arctic habitat / Tim P. Shields.

Title: Using the polar bear framework to protect the Arctic habitat / Tim P. Shields.
Author(s): Shields, Tim P.
Date: 2008.
Abstract: Discusses consequences of listing polar bear (Ursus maritimus) as threatened species for habitat protection and prevention of habitat modification where actual injury to wildlife can be demonstrated. Argues that concentration on polar bear protection ignores major factors currently contributing to habitat loss (e.g. global warming, transport of chemical pollution, and encroaching human activities).
