Abstract: Explores similarities between Arctic and small island developing states (SIDS) as they confront challenge of climate change. Both regions have been identified among most vulnerable to climate change effects, yet they have contributed least to global greenhouse gas emissions. Responses to effects of climate change in these regions raise important questions of equity, now being addressed (legally and politically) through human rights challenge in Arctic and development of alliance between Arctic and SIDS called Many Strong Voices.
