Title, transliterated: | Lignin i khimicheskie ėlementy v osadkakh Kandalakshskogo zaliva Belogo mori︠a︡ / V.I. Peresypkin, V.N. Lukashin, A.B. Isaeva, R. Prego. |
Translated title: | Lignin and chemical elements in the sediments of Kandalakshskiy Zaliv of the White Sea. |
Author(s): | Peresypkin, V. I. Lukashin, V. N. Isaeva, A. B. Prego, R. |
Date: | 2004. |
Language: | Russian. |
In: | Okeanologii︠a︡. (2004.), Vol. 44(5) (2004) |
Abstract: | Analyses chemical composition of upper layer of sediments (0-1 cm) in Kolvits and Knazhaya inlets, and also deep part of Kandalaksha bay. Finds that silts are richer in Fe, Corg and heavy metals than sands. Notes high correlations of Pb and Cu with organic carbon, and that high concentrations of Pb in Kandalaksha bay testify to industrial pollution of sediments. Finds that lignin makes significant contribution to formation of organic matter, and that its composition in bottom sediments is determined by its composition in soils and air particles. |
