| Abstract: | Since WMO recommendations on solid precipitation correction do not take into account systematic errors in precipitation measurements, such as precipitation from high winds and that blown into gauge during strong blizzards, proposes three different methods used in Russia, Alaska and Canada. Outlines reasons for different methods in each country. Discusses results and compares against maps of corrected precipitation in world water budget and snow and ice resources atlases. |
