Abstract: Presents linear diagnostic model of large-scale circulation patterns in Nordic seas and Arctic Ocean. Model includes effect of along-isobath varying bottom density. Notes that bottom density variations along slope cause interaction between barotropic and baroclinic flows. Finds model is successful in reproducing main large-scale features of circulation.
