Record #187253:

Effect of antihypertensive drugs on blood pressure during exposure to cold. Experimental study in normotensive and hypertensive subjects / Silja Komulainen.

Title: Effect of antihypertensive drugs on blood pressure during exposure to cold. Experimental study in normotensive and hypertensive subjects / Silja Komulainen.
Author(s): Komulainen, Silja.
Date: 2007.
In: International Journal of Circumpolar Health. (2007.), Vol. 66(5) (2007)
Abstract: Outlines study to determine and describe effects of different types of cold exposures on blood pressure and heart rate and to test how cold-induced effects are modulated by antihypertensive drugs representing different kinds of mechanisms of action. Tested drugs represent following antihypertensive drug sub-groups: metoprolol from beta-blocking agents, carvedilol from alpha- and beta-blocking agents, lisnopril from angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, eprosartan from angiotensin II antagonists, amlodipine from calcium channel blockers and hydrochlorothiazide from diuretics.
