Abstract: Describes Finnish national vaccination programme, under which all children are vaccinated against nine infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, polio, pertussis, severe infections due to Haemophilus influenzae Type B, measles, mumps, rubella and influenza. More than 95% of children are vaccinated according to optimal schedule. Vaccine-preventable diseases are rare in Finland, and evaluation of implementation of new vaccines in programme is ongoing.
