Abstract: Considers new vaccines against Pneumococcus, Meningococcus, Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and Rotavirus currently being evaluated in circumpolar world. Argues that evaluation process should ensure that vaccine components and immunogenicity are suited to targeted Arctic population. Notes that, in Canada, licensed seven-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine does not include Serotype 1 which is significant cause of morbidity and mortality among Canadian aboriginal children.
