Record #187246:

The Arctic climate variability in the past and its implication to future change / Seong-Joong Kim, Junmei Lü, Bang Yong Lee.

Title: The Arctic climate variability in the past and its implication to future change / Seong-Joong Kim, Junmei Lü, Bang Yong Lee.
Author(s): Kim, Seong-Joong.
Lü, Junmei.
Lee, Bang Yong.
Date: 2008.
Publisher: [Tokyo]: ISAR-1
In: First International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-1) : drastic change under global warming. (2008.),
Abstract: Investigates change in variability of Arctic Oscillation (AO) for Mid Holocene and Last Glacial Maximum, using data from second phase of Paleoclimate Modeling Intercomparison Project, and compares results with pre-industrial period. Finds response of AO variability in Mid Holocene to be overall slightly weaker than present. In Last Glacial Maximum, AO amplitude weakens further in all models, associated with increase in mean sea level pressure over high northern latitudes and Arctic relative to that of mid latitudes.
