Abstract: | Describes effect of recent environmental and socio-economic developments on reindeer herding and perceptions of weather on Seward Peninsula. Notes that reindeer industry has shrunk considerably since 1990s; also that socio-economic and environmental repercussions make continuation of herding tenuous, and erode ability of herders to cope with weather variability. |
