Record #187019:

Prevalence of diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus in Greenland 2008: the impact of electronic database implementation on the quality of diabetes care / Michael Lynge Pedersen.

Title: Prevalence of diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus in Greenland 2008: the impact of electronic database implementation on the quality of diabetes care / Michael Lynge Pedersen.
Author(s): Pedersen, Michael Lynge.
Date: 2009.
In: International Journal of Circumpolar Health. (2009.), Vol. 68(1) (2009)
Abstract: Investigates age-specific prevalence of diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus in Greenland in 2008 and evaluates influence of electronic database access on quality of clinical management of disease. Finds prevalence to be low, which, when compared with previous population-based surveys, suggests prevalence of undiagnosed diabetes is high (especially in age group 40-60). Recommends that efforts be made to identify undiagnosed type 2 diabetes in this group. Also finds improvement in quality of management of disease when electronic database is used.
