Abstract: Reports results of cross-sectional study (based on face-to-face interviews and oral examination) to determine distribution and determinants of periodontal health in adult members of Sandy Bay First Nation in Manitoba. Assesses debris index, calculus index, gingival index and clinical attachment loss in sample of 107 individuals. Finds high prevalence of periodontitis and recommends expansion of community-based dental surgery.
