Record #186985:
Lake sediments from Store Koldewey, northeast Greenland, as archive of Late Pleistocene and Holocene climatic and environmental changes / Martin Klug, and 5 others.
Title: | Lake sediments from Store Koldewey, northeast Greenland, as archive of Late Pleistocene and Holocene climatic and environmental changes / Martin Klug, and 5 others. |

In: | Boreas. (2009.), Vol. 38(1) (2009) |
Abstract: | Investigates 2.9 m sedimentary record from small lake (Duck Lake) located on Store Koldewey. Sediments are investigated for geophysical and biogeochemical characteristics, and for fossil chironomid assemblages. Finds that organic matter began to accumulate in lake at 9.1 cal. kyr BP, which provides minimum age for deglaciation of basin; also that organic matter accumulation in lake remained low during Early Holocene, possibly due to late plant immigration and lack of nutrient availability, but increased during Middle and Late Holocene, when temperatures gradually decreased. |
