Record #186649:

Effects of UV radiation on seaweeds / Dieter Hanelt, C. Wiencke, K. Bischof.

Title: Effects of UV radiation on seaweeds / Dieter Hanelt, C. Wiencke, K. Bischof.
Author(s): Hanelt, Dieter.
Wiencke, C.
Bischof, K.
Date: 2007.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Arctic alpine ecosystems and people in a changing environment. (2007.),
Abstract: Discusses extent to which presently measured UV levels are affecting macroalgal communities in Arctic coastal ecosystems. Finds that, although photosynthesis and growth appear sensitive to UV exposure when algae are sampled or transplanted from original location, studied species exhibit sufficient acclimation potential to account for respective variations in radiation conditions at their specific growth site.
