| Abstract: | Analyzes changing diet patterns during Soviet and post-Soviet periods among sea mammal hunters (Lorina and Lavrentiya) and reindeer herders (village of Vaegi) of Chukotka. Investigates economic and ethnic factors in choice of food. Finds that both groups are developing diets that are substantially different from traditional and Soviet ones. |
