Highlights negative impacts of this resource exploitation especially on environment. Investigates different actors' perspectives of natural resources and their use on Sakhalin and examines differences and similarities of these perceptions. Gives examples of three individuals (Nivkhi and Russians) to illustrate actor type and perceptions.
