Abstract: Reports identification of male narwhal (Monodon monoceros) five years after tagging with satellite transmitter. Narwhal was identified in photograph of group of narwhals taken from ice edge in Lancaster Sound. Examination of position of transmitter on tusk showed that tusk had grown approx. 17 cm in five-year period.
