Calculates start and duration of seasons based on displacement of isotherm along specific section of sea area or time between subsequent intersection of location by different isotherms. Finds that interannual variability of onset of season is inverse to its duration; i.e. earlier season begins, longer is its duration compared with previous year. Notes that last decade has been characterised by tendency to earlier onset of warm season and its longer duration, which is indication of warming of these seas.
