Record #186253:

Survival estimates of Antarctic terns (Sterna vittata bethunei) on the Snares Islands, New Zealand / P.M. Sagar, and 3 others.

Title: Survival estimates of Antarctic terns (Sterna vittata bethunei) on the Snares Islands, New Zealand / P.M. Sagar, and 3 others.
Author(s): Sagar, P. M.
Date: 2007.
In: Notornis. (2007.), Vol. 54(4) (2007)
Abstract: Reports first empirical estimate of annual adult survival rate in Antarctic tern, based on 31-year banding programme from 1976-2007. Annual survival was 0.91 for adults and 0.42 for birds banded as fledglings, and 0.94 in subsequent years. Average reproductive life span was 10.2 years, and fledgling that survived first year would have life expectancy of 17.4 years. Compares results with data for other tern species.
