Abstract: | Presents results of research conducted in communities of Igloolik, Ulukhaktok and Churchill, documenting increasing exposure to hazards associated with ice use for hunting and travel. Trend is related to changing ice conditions. Elders and mature community members, drawing on traditional knowledge, describe similar changes in ice and other climate-related change in recent years, and impact on way of life (e.g. reduced access to traditional sources of food) |
