Title: Linking the world's oceans: the Antarctic Circumpolar Current / Jenny Pollock.
Author(s): Pollock, Jenny.
Date: 2008.
In: Water & Atmosphere. (2008.), Vol. 16(4) (2008)
Abstract: Overview of project to improve understanding of thermohaline circulation in World Ocean by measuring speed at depth of Antarctic circumpolar current through Macquarie Ridge, using instrumented mooring in 2007-08 to measure speed, direction, volume, temperature and salinity of current. Data shows speed of current is approximately 4 km per hour. Includes notes on author's participation in New Zealand Science, Mathematics and Technology Teacher Fellowship programme.
