Record #185851:

Palaeomagnetism and magnetostratigraphy of the Permian and Triassic of Spitsbergen: a review of progress and challenges / Mark W. Hounslow, Jerzy Nawrocki.

Title: Palaeomagnetism and magnetostratigraphy of the Permian and Triassic of Spitsbergen: a review of progress and challenges / Mark W. Hounslow, Jerzy Nawrocki.
Author(s): Hounslow, Mark W.
Nawrocki, Jerzy.
Date: 2008.
In: Polar Research. (2008.), Vol. 27(3) (2008)
Abstract: Reports use of Permian and Triassic sediments from Svalbard to evaluate concepts about polarity and configuration of geomagnetic field during Palaeozoic-Mesozoic transition. Examines existing palaeomagnetic and magnetostratigraphic data, and re-examines issue of partial remagnetisation of sediments. Notes that Permian and Triassic palaeomagnetic poles from Spitsbergen demonstrate close similarity with stable Europe apparent wander path.
Notes:

Polar Research. Vol. 27(3) :502-522 (2008).

In special issue The Boreal Triassic.
