| Abstract: | Describes Knorringfjellet Formation, succession of mudstones and sandstones ranging in age from Norian to Toarcian in western and west-central Spitsbergen. Finds foraminiferal succession to consist almost exclusively of agglutinated taxa and to show extremely low assemblage diversities and dominance of small-sized species. Faunal features reflect restricted environmental conditions (in contrast to those of normal marine shelf) |
