| Abstract: | Presents results of aircraft data on Arctic stratus cloud collected over Beaufort Sea. Uses one of most up-to-date set of instruments to study microphysical structure of clouds. Finds that liquid water content profile from bottom to middle of cloud more or less tallies with adiabatic value. Observes active mixing near cloud top due to dry air penetration from above. Uses gamma equation to obtain cloud drop spectra parameters for use in numerical models. |
