| Abstract: | Uses physically based snow evolution modelling system SnowModel to simulate eight full-year evolutions of snow accumulation, blowing snow, sublimation, evaporation, snow and ice surface melt, runoff, and mass changes over entire Mittivakkat Glacier during 1998-2006. Aims to estimate end-of-winter snow water equivalent and yearly glacier runoff, compare modelled winter, summer and net mass balances with observations, and simulate water balance components for entire glacier, including runoff contribution to ocean. Discusses influences of elevation, topography, and wind on modelled quantities and differences from observations. |
