Record #185645:

Interglacial Chironomidae (Diptera) from Thule, northwest Greenland: matching modern analogues to fossil assemblages / Klaus Peter Brodersen, Ole Bennike.

Title: Interglacial Chironomidae (Diptera) from Thule, northwest Greenland: matching modern analogues to fossil assemblages / Klaus Peter Brodersen, Ole Bennike.
Author(s): Brodersen, Klaus Peter.
Bennike, Ole.
Date: 2006.
In: Boreas. (2006.), Vol. 32(4) (2006)
Abstract: Reports investigation of subfossil insect remains undertaken to complement understanding of last interglacial environments in Arctic by analogue matching to modern chironomid assemblages. Subfossil insect assemblage reveals eight different chironomid taxa. Analogue matching, multidimensional scaling, profound dominance of Diamesa and registration of Simuliidae head capsule suggest lotic, cold, glacier-fed palaeobiotope.
