| Abstract: | Presents data on mean annual permafrost temperature dynamics at three monitoring sites (Marre-Sale, Urengoy, Nadym) in climate-change context. Observes increase in mean annual permafrost temperature during last 30 years, minimal for bogs and maximal for peatlands. Estimates likely limits of mean annual permafrost temperature changes under 1°C increase in mean annual air temperature to be about 0.1-0.25 °C in tundra zone and 0.1-0.8 °C in forest tundra and north taiga zones. |
