Record #185278:

On the abyssal circulation in the glacial Atlantic / Olivier Marchal, William B. Curry.

Title: On the abyssal circulation in the glacial Atlantic / Olivier Marchal, William B. Curry.
Author(s): Marchal, Olivier.
Curry, William B.
Date: 2008.
In: Journal of Physical Oceanography. (2008.), Vol. 38(9) (2008)
Abstract: Evaluates information contained in sediment data for Atlantic basin during Last Glacial Maximum, using inverse method. Data for consideration are updated compilation of isotopic ratios of fossil shells of benthic foraminifera. Obtains estimate of abyssal circulation of modern Atlantic, then combines estimates of water properties derived from sediment data with circulation estimate to test consistency with modern flow. Finds more than 80% of water property estimates are compatible with modern flow.
