Abstract: Reports results of observations of upper mantle shear wave splitting using teleseismic SKS waves for 8 stations in Lützow-Holm Bay, East Antarctica. Calculates apparent splitting parameters and delay time between split waves assuming anisotropic layer of hexagonal and horizontal symmetry. Two layer modelling reveals anisotropy in Pan-African terrains in upper layer corresponds well to polarization of NE-SW palaeo-compressional stress in region.
