Discusses elements of ethnic identity such as Sel'kup ethnonyms, their nearly extinct language, and interaction with other ethnic groups. Analyses Sel'kup identity in relation to political, economic, and environmental factors. Considers Sel'kup plans for re-ethnization and revitalization. Looks at wider debate on ethnicity and assesses theoretical approaches. |
