Record #185167:

Melting Arctic ice threatens polar bears' survival / Hal Caswell.

Title: Melting Arctic ice threatens polar bears' survival / Hal Caswell.
Author(s): Caswell, Hal.
Date: 2008.
In: Oceanus. (2008.), Vol. 46(2) (2008)
Abstract: Discusses conclusion of recent study which concluded that melting Arctic ice is critical threat to survival of polar bears (Ursus maritimus), in context of imminent decision by US Department of Interior whether to place bears on federally protected endangered species list. Argues that population can probably withstand occasional "bad-ice" years, but not successive ones.
