Abstract: | Surveys health of diverse populations inhabiting circumpolar regions in Northern Hemisphere. Describes and explains changing patterns of health and causes of change, and considers what can be done to improve standard of health. Uses concept of "health transitions" and correlates changes in health status with major environmental, social, economic and political changes in region. |
