Record #185088:
New zircon ages from the Tasiusarsuaq terrane, southern West Greenland / Tomas Naeraa, Anders Scherstén.
Title: | New zircon ages from the Tasiusarsuaq terrane, southern West Greenland / Tomas Naeraa, Anders Scherstén. |
Author(s): | Naeraa, Tomas. Scherstén, Anders. |
Date: | 2007. |
In: | Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland Bulletin. (2007.), Vol. 15 (2007) |
Abstract: | Presents new zircon ages that help constrain northern boundary of Tasiusarsuaq terrane. Notes that terrane accretion is believed to have taken place in two events. First accretion is defined from northern part of region and possibly involves Isukasia, Kapisilik and Akia terranes (thermal event stitching these terranes is dated to 2.99-2.95 Ga). Second accretion phase of major continental blocks is believed to have occurred at around 2.725-2.71 Ga. |
