Microbiological and ecological responses to global environmental changes in Polar regions (MERGE): an inter-continental initiative from Asia / Satoshi Imura, Annick Wilmotte, Takeshi Naganuma.

Title: Microbiological and ecological responses to global environmental changes in Polar regions (MERGE): an inter-continental initiative from Asia / Satoshi Imura, Annick Wilmotte, Takeshi Naganuma.
Author(s): Imura, Satoshi.
Wilmotte, Annick.
Naganuma, Takeshi.
Date: 2007.
Publisher: Tokyo: Japan. IPY National Committee
In: Proceedings of the International Symposium : Asian Collaboration in IPY 2007-2008, 1st March 2007, Tokyo, Japan. (2007.),
Abstract: Briefly describes IPY umbrella research programme MERGE, which examines responses of terrestrial, lacustrine and supraglacial polar ecosystems to climate changes such as global warming. Key questions relate to diversity and biogeography, food webs and ecosystem evolution, and linkages between biological, chemical and physical processes in supraglacial biome of prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms.
