Record #185038:

Lessons from nature, models, and the past: other lines of evidence inform the debate on ocean iron fertilization / Hugh Powell.

Title: Lessons from nature, models, and the past: other lines of evidence inform the debate on ocean iron fertilization / Hugh Powell.
Author(s): Powell, Hugh.
Date: 2008.
In: Oceanus. (2008.), Vol. 46(1) (2008)
Abstract: Reports discussions at September 2007 conference at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution on iron fertilisation of oceans to sequester carbon dioxide. Includes long-term problems involved in fertilising Southern Ocean, due to differences in currents, dangers of flooding tropical waters with nutrient-depleted waters in later years, regional differences in strength of biological pump, and differences in rate of appropriation by plankton of dissolved natural iron and artificial iron additions.
