| Abstract: | Report, originally compiled in 1958 and classified, of expedition in 1957 which studied kolkhoz Novaya Zhizn' engaged in fisheries, reindeer herding, fur farming and hunting. Presents data on profits of kolkhoz for year 1957 for each type of economic activity. Look at its productivity and economic success and also condition of roads. Draws conclusions on most profitable type of activity which is identified as fisheries. Examines current housing conditions and needs. Highlights poor condition of local hospital and health provision. |
