Record #184894:

Recent trend reversals in sea ice extents: possible connections to the North Atlantic Oscillation / Claire L. Parkinson.

Title: Recent trend reversals in sea ice extents: possible connections to the North Atlantic Oscillation / Claire L. Parkinson.
Author(s): Parkinson, Claire L.
Date: 2008.
In: Polar Geography. (2008.), Vol. 31(1-2) (2008)
Abstract: Reports results of regression analysis performed on yearly averaged Arctic sea ice extents for two time periods: 1997-1990 and 1990-1999. Finds, for Arctic as whole, decade of 1990s witnessed deceleration of trend towards lesser ice extents. Explores connection between spatial patterns of sea ice trends and reversals and North Atlantic Oscillation, which reached peak in annual index in 1990.
