Geomorphology of the Ammassilik Island, SE Greenland / Ole Humlum, Hanne H. Christiansen.
Title: | Geomorphology of the Ammassilik Island, SE Greenland / Ole Humlum, Hanne H. Christiansen. |
Author(s): | Humlum, Ole. Christiansen, Hanne H. |
Date: | 2008. |
In: | Geografisk Tidsskrift. (2008.), Vol. 108(1) (2008) |
Abstract: | Describes geology of Ammassalik Island, noting that much of present relief must have formed during Palaeocene and Eocene, or later (during Neogene), also that, during Quaternary, area was covered by Greenland Ice Sheet with exception of nunataqs located at junction of elevated bedrock plateau and escarpment. Discusses periglacial processes responsible for geomorphological evolution during Late Holocene. |
