Abstract: Describes parents' opinions about their children sleeping outdoors during Finnish winter and prevalence of practice in city of Oulu. Finds that allowing children to sleep outdoors is considered common practice and taken for granted. It usually begins when child is 2 weeks old and is carried out once daily. Parents' experiences are mainly positive and most have not faced potentially dangerous situations.
