| Abstract: | Develops system for modelling accidental oil spills in ice-infested Arctic seas. System consists of dynamic-thermodynamic model, wind waves model and oil spill transport and transformation model. Briefly describes model system and results of numerical experiments set in Kara and Barents seas. Concludes that modelling system can adequately describe behaviour of oil spills on ice-free surface and under drifting ice conditions, and could form basis of regional operational model. |
