Распределение и состав нерастворимых частиц в снеге Арктики

Title: Распределение и состав нерастворимых частиц в снеге Арктики
Title, transliterated: Raspredelenie i sostav nerastvorimykh chastit︠s︡ v snege Arktiki / V.B. Shevchenko, and 10 others.
Translated title: Distribution and composition of particulate matter in Arctic snow.
Author(s): Shevchenko, V. B.
Date: 2007.
Language: Russian.
In: Problemy Arktiki i Antarktiki. (2007.), Vol. 75 (2007)
Abstract: Summarizes results from literature and authors' studies during period 1994-2005. Reports that background concentration of particles >0.45 μm in Arctic snow varies from 0.2 to 3 mg/l and is significantly higher than suspended particulate matter concentrations in region's sea water. Particulate matter in fresh snow comprises mainly mineral grains and biogenic particles (spores, pollen, fibres and diatoms) of pelitic and aleuritic grain size. Soot particles and combustion spheres with diameters 0.5-5 μm occur in most samples. Calculates that Aeolian input of particulate matter to total sedimentary supply to Arctic Ocean is close to riverine input (outside marginal filters). Aeolian input in general supplies about 10% of sedimentation in Arctic Ocean.
