Współczesna rzeźba peryglacjalna wysokich gó Europy / Otto Salvvigsen, Kirsti Høgvard.

Title: Współczesna rzeźba peryglacjalna wysokich gó Europy / Otto Salvvigsen, Kirsti Høgvard.
Translated title: Present-day periglacial relief in high mountains of Europe.
Author(s): Salvvigsen, Otto.

Date: 2007.
Language: Polish.
In: Prace Geograficzne. (2007.), Vol. 212 (2007)
Abstract: Analyzes distribution and development of present-day periglacial relief in high mountains of Europe, taking account of data characterising process rates and comparing effectiveness of periglacial and other geomorphic processes. For six mountain regions (Alps, Scandinavian mountains, Pyrenees, Cairngorms, Southern Carpathians and Tatra) identifies specific features of periglacial relief, spatial patterns of landforms and common and dominant landform types. Presents geomorphic maps and discusses weathering rates, permafrost-related landforms, frost sorting and solifluction processes and related landforms, landform distribution, and process dependence on moisture and thermal conditions. Reports solifluction rates similar between regions. Finds altitude of periglacial activity decreases from 2500 m a.s.l. in temperate zone to 600-800 m a.s.l. in sub-Arctic. Colour plates illustrate landform types.
