Has prey availability for Arctic birds advanced with climate change? Hindcasting the abundance of tundra arthropods using weather and seasonal variation / Ingrid Tulp, Hans Schekkerman.

Title: Has prey availability for Arctic birds advanced with climate change? Hindcasting the abundance of tundra arthropods using weather and seasonal variation / Ingrid Tulp, Hans Schekkerman.
Author(s): Tulp, Ingrid.
Schekkerman, Hans.
Date: 2008.
In: Arctic. (2008.), Vol. 61(1) (2008)
Abstract: Investigates weather-related and seasonal patterns in abundance of surface-active arthropods over four years in tundra of NW Taimyr, Siberia. Resulting statistical models are used to hindcast arthropod abundance on basis of 33-year weather dataset collected in same area. Finds hindcasted dates of peak arthropod abundance have advanced during study period; also timing of period during which birds have reasonable probability of finding enough food to grow have changed, with highest probabilities now occurring at earlier dates.
