520 3# ‡aReports mass balance investigations on fourteen glaciers and length change measurements at 28 glaciers (21 in southern Norway and seven in northern Norway). Detailed reports for 10 glacier areas include meteorological observations, some glacier movement data and report of jøkulhlaup at Blåmannsisen. Winter balance was above average for nine of twelve measured glaciers in southern Norway. Rembesdalsskåka experienced greatest winter balance since measurements began in 1963. Summer balance was about average or slightly less for maritime glaciers and above average inland. Twenty-four glacier outlets retreated, one advanced and three showed no change. Kjenndalsbreen retreated 182 metres, in greatest annual retreat since 1940s.
