Abstract: Summary of dissertation evaluating ways in which persistent toxic substances migrate to humans, defining PTS content in blood of indigenous peoples of Russian North. Determines their dietary habits and lifestyles. Assesses whether persistent organic pollutants and metals may be responsible for effects on reproduction and whether radiation load (over decades) could be associated with cancer mortality rates.
