Record #183909:

The nearshore fishes / R. Williams.

Title: The nearshore fishes / R. Williams.
Author(s): Williams, R.
Date: 2006.
Publisher: Chipping Norton, NSW: Surrey Beatty
In: Heard Island : Southern Ocean sentinel. (2006.),
Abstract: Describes fish found within 12 nautical miles of sub-Antarctic Heard Island and McDonald Islands, with overview of limited and sporadic past research conducted from ANARE station at Atlas Cove between 1947-55; and during visits of Cape Pilar in 1980, Nella Dan in 1985, and Aurora Australia in 1990 and 1992. Discusses habitat use, and provides annotated checklist of nearshore fishes, which demonstrates that Kerguelen-Heard Plateau is single biogeographic unit as far as fish fauna is concerned.
