| Abstract: | Documents field research associated with outburst of dammed glacial lake next to Birdzhalay-Chiran and Chungurchat-Chiran glaciers on 11 August 2006. Outburst was predicted following fieldwork of July 2006 and released about 400,000 km³ of water, destroying infrastructure of nearby water resort. Presents results of field observations and stereosurveys of lake carried out before and after event. |
