Abstract: Reports and analyzes results of observations from period 1962-2002, covering terminus retreat and area changes, cumulative and annual mass balance, ELA variations, correlations between mass balance and precipitation and air temperature, etc. Glacier retreat had been continuous over last 40 years and has accelerated in last decade as result of summer warming. ELA has risen from 4008 to 4056 m a.s.l., implying continuing retreat even without continued climate warming.
