Роль морских гидродинамических процессов в формировании залежей пластовых льдов на арктическом побережье

Title: Роль морских гидродинамических процессов в формировании залежей пластовых льдов на арктическом побережье
Title, transliterated: Rolʹ morskikh gidrodinamicheskikh prot︠s︡essov v formirovanii zalezheĭ plastovykh lʹdov na arkticheskom poberezhʹe / V.N. Golubev.
Translated title: Importance of marine hydrodynamical processes in origin of massive ground ice bodies in the Arctic coastal zone.
Author(s): Golubev, V. N.
Date: 2007.
Language: Russian.
In: Materialy Gli︠a︡t︠s︡iologicheskikh Issledovaniĭ. (2007.), Vol. 102 (2007)
Abstract: Discusses formation of tabular ice in shores of Arctic seas. Noting field studies in White Sea area showing close correlation between ground water level and periodic oscillation of sea level, considers processes related to coastal hydrodynamics as basic factors influencing ground moisture and tabular ice formation. Presents physical modelling of one-dimensional ground freezing, describing experimental device and post-experiment ground complex and ice structures and showing that periodic ground water rise in porous (water-permeable) frozen ground under a frozen (not water-permeable) layer leads to increase in ice content of ground and forms ice horizon.
