Abstract: Examines studies of relief, terrestrial deposits and lacustrine-marine sediments in Antarctic ice-free coastal areas that reveal post-glacial relative sea-level changes and isostatic rebound values. Compares own results from Bunger Oasis and Larsemann Hills with those from other regions to show influence of marine transgression in early-middle Holocene (until 5000 years BP) and occurrence of maximum sea-level highstand in Antarctic coasts within period 8000-6000 years BP. Identifies probable, short-term, 3-5 m rise 2000-1000 years BP within subsequent gradual lowering of sea level. Suggests differences in Holocene relative sea-level rise amplitudes and isostatic rebound rates indicate regional variations in ice loading during Last Glacial Maximum.
